With the holiday season here, I wanted to share one of my favorite pieces of gear that I use ALL THE TIME. I use this headlamp when camping, hunting, and fishing. I even use a headlamp when I grill in the backyard (now that the sun goes down earlier).

The Petzl Tikka Model is the best. It is very compact and fits everywhere. The lamp is also very bright.

If you think using a headlamp is geeky, try setting up a tent in the dark with just handheld flashlight. The flashlight occupies one hand. The headlamp frees you up. It is one the best tools I have.

I keep this handy all the time and get panicked when I can't find it before a trip.
